Centipedes – Millipedes – Sow Bugs – Crickets – Spiders – Earwigs – Clover Mites – Springtails
These pests are considered occasional invaders often found along exterior foundations, under mulch and patio blocks also in basement areas and any other damp areas of a home. These pests originate outdoors and populate in soil areas in garden along foundations. These pests will find their way into your home through various cracks and crevices near your foundation, both above and below ground. They feed on a wide variety of plant and organic matter. Millipedes, Centipedes, Sow Bugs, Earwigs and Springtails tend to be more prevalent in the summer as soil conditions dry out. Crickets and Spiders will crawl to higher areas and get in under siding. Clover Mites and Spring Tails come in very large numbers and will infest the entire outside area of a building and enter through windows and doors. These pests can be difficult to control due to their high numbers.
Improper drainage and moisture problems around the home and foundation will increase the chance of being bothered by these pests. Mulch and grass that is up against the foundation can also increase populations. High levels of humidity inside the home especially in basement will attract most of these pests as well.
Homeowners should fix and repair all faulty gutters and down spouts and make sure all ground water is directed away from house and foundation. Garden irrigations systems should be directed away from house and foundation. Proper ventilation of basements and crawl spaces is important and dehumidifiers or air conditioners should be run on a regular basis.

- Interior liquid insecticide application to cracks & crevices along baseboards, cabinets, sill plates or any area where ant activity exists.
- Injection of dust insecticide application to cracks & crevices or wall voids in areas of ant activity and insect harborage areas.
- Exterior perimeter treatments with liquid insecticide using truck mounted power spray equipment. Treatment is designed to reduce ant population on the exterior, reduce harborage and to control and prevent ants from entering of the structure. Scope of this treatment is to foundation, adjacent grounds, decks, porches, patios, base of large trees, gardens, mulch areas, window & door frames, roof lines and any other ant harborage and entry points.
- Exterior perimeter treatments with time-released granules.
- Use of back pack or hand help spray equipment.
